So you’ve taken the leap and decided to invest in the highest grade Russian hair extensions. With proper TLC, your new weft can last up to a year. Follow these tips for keeping the healthiest mane in town.
Detangle your hair first with a detangling brush. We recommend a Tangle Teaser or a Loop Brush. Wash your hair gently in a downward motion, and don’t brush when wet as this can cause breakage. Ideally Only wash hair 1-2 times per week, and condition with every wash, avoiding the roots or near attachments. Pat dry your hair, don’t rub with a towel. Wash hair with warm water only.
Avoid products containing silicone, parabens, sodium, SLES. Tape in extensions can only been washed with sulfate free products.
Avoid shampoo and conditioning products which use Sulfates, Isopropyl Alcohol, Formaldehyde and Propylene Glycol, as they will strip the hair of natural oils and leave them dry and sometimes damaged if used for a prolonged period of time.
Whilst Blond Bomb extensions are healthy enough to be dyed, heat will dry our your extensions quickly. Air dry whenever possible after washing. Blow dry on a lower heat, and always use a heat protection spray before blow drying.
Tape in extensions must have each piece fully dried after each wash with a hair dryer, or the tape will become tacky.
Blond Bomb extensions can be straightened, but to keep ends from becoming brittle we recommend applying almond oil every few day avoiding the root.
Use a soft bristle brush, nylon extension brush or a looper brush to care for your hair extensions.
Hair extensions need trims too! Trim your split ends every 6 weeks, and move up tape ins around the same time. Wefts can be moved up when they feel lose or baggy, around 3 months.
And remember… be gentle.
